How can the Better Choices, Better Health workshops help me?

WHAT DOES CHRONIC CONDITION MEAN?
People with a Chronic Condition have a medical problem that can last for the rest of their life. Chronic conditions may cause you to suffer a variety of health problems over many years. Some examples of chronic conditions include: anxiety, arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, emphysema, fibromyalgia, heart disease, high blood pressure HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, obesity, osteoporosis, and stroke.

In contrast, acute conditions are short lived, and with prompt, effective treatment, people can usually return to normal health quickly.

Many people live with a chronic condition for years. The Better Choices, Better Health Chronic Disease Self management workshop helps you learn how to manage your symptoms so you can get the most out of life.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ?
The Better Choices, Better Health workshops are for anyone living with a chronic disease that wants to live a healthier, happier, more productive life. You are also invited to register a spouse, friend or close family member to attend the workshop with you.

Self-management is learning and putting into practice the skills you need to
live a satisfying life with a chronic disease. People who take these workshops feel better and are less limited by their illness.
